ABOUT

My name is Azedenkae. No not really, but it is my pen name. I have always been interested in biology, ever since I was a kid. I graduated with a Bachelor's in genetics, Honour's in immunology and parasitology, then a Master's in Molecular Biology and now a PhD too.

My specialty is microbiology, though I kind of dabbled in a lot of fields due to the nature of my work. Marine biology, marine ecology, microbial physiology, microbial ecology, molecular biology, genetics, genomics, transcriptomics, metagenomics, proteomics, and more.

​

But my passion is aquarium-keeping. I specialize mostly in cichlids, specifically american cichlids. They are really, really, really interesting for a geneticist like myself, given the capacity to crossbreed by many american cichlid species.

Given the nature of my work, I am able to delve into a lot of topics in the aquarium-keeping hobby in more detail than others. I do not profess to know everything, but I do like to believe what I know, I know well.
