ABOUT

My name is Azedenkae. No not really, but it is my pen name. I have always been interested in biology, ever since I was a kid. I graduated with a Bachelor's in genetics, Honour's in immunology and parasitology, then a Master's in Molecular Biology and now a PhD too.

My specialty is microbiology, though I kind of dabbled in a lot of fields due to the nature of my work. Marine biology, marine ecology, microbial physiology, microbial ecology, molecular biology, genetics, genomics, transcriptomics, metagenomics, proteomics, and more.

But my passion is aquarium-keeping. I specialize mostly in cichlids, specifically american cichlids. They are really, really, really interesting for a geneticist like myself, given the capacity to crossbreed by many american cichlid species.

Given the nature of my work, I am able to delve into a lot of topics in the aquarium-keeping hobby in more detail than others. I do not profess to know everything, but I do like to believe what I know, I know well.

This website serves one purpose - to help my fellow aquarists. So I hope it's helpful to you!
